What will I do as a Mystery Shopper? |
If hired as a Mystery Shopper, you will begin to receive your assignments.
The assignment will tell you what to look for, what questions to ask, and what
to
buy. You will be reimbursed for what you buy. At restaurants, you
will rate the food, the service, the atmosphere, even the silverware, plus you
get a FREE MEAL! At stores you will rate the customer service, the merchandise,
the layout and the atmosphere, even the parking lots.
After you shop and observe the store and its service, you fill
out some paperwork to report to the company about your
experience. The paperwork will ask you questions such as: "Were
you greeted promptly?" "Was the rest room clean?" "Did the
cashier thank you by name if you used a credit card?" The
company wants to know how well their stores and restaurants are
presenting themselves and if they are up to the standards they
expect.
You will get reimbursed for any money spent and you often get to keep what you
buy on top of an hourly or per job payment! Remember, you are posing as a real
customer. Stores and restaurants don't know you are inspecting them- hence
the name Mystery or Secret Shopper. Mystery shoppers can earn a good living when working with multiple companies.
